1. Who you are dealing with

Affection Library is run by Profectify LLC, 256 Chapman Road STE 105-4, Newark, Delaware 19702, USA. Where these terms say “we” or “us”, that is who they mean. You can reach us at hello@affectionlibrary.com.

By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What we sell

Digital content: books you read in your browser or download, printable worksheets, email-based challenges, an online course, and a membership that gives access to the library while it is active. Nothing is posted to you. There is no physical product.

Where a product is marked 18+, you must confirm you are 18 or over before you can see or buy it. That confirmation is checked again when the file is served.

3. Your account

Buying something creates an account, because that account is how you get to what you bought. Keep the details accurate, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has got into it.

An account is for one person. Your household is welcome to read what you bought — this material is meant to be read by two people — but sharing your sign-in, or a download link, outside your household is not on.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euros, pounds or US dollars. Each price is a separate figure we chose, not a conversion of another one, so the number you see is the number you pay. We take payment through Stripe.

If a price is obviously wrong — a book listed at a tenth of its price because of an error — we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it. We will tell you if that happens.

5. Delivery, and what you may do with what you bought

Access is immediate. You get a licence to use what you bought for your own and your household’s private, non-commercial use, for as long as your entitlement lasts. That licence is personal to you and cannot be transferred.

You may not:

• resell, rent, sub-licence or give away what you bought;
• publish it, upload it to a file-sharing service, or post extracts beyond ordinary quotation;
• strip out or work around any access control, watermark or signed link;
• use it as material to train a machine-learning model;
• use it to run a paid group, workshop or coaching practice without our written agreement.

A membership gives access while it is active. It is not a permanent transfer of everything in the library.

6. Cancelling, and the 14-day right of withdrawal

Because this is digital content delivered immediately, there is a specific rule about cancellation, and it is worth understanding before you buy. It is set out in full on the refunds and cancellation page, which forms part of these terms.

7. Using the site properly

Please do not:

• try to get at anything you have not paid for, or interfere with how access is enforced;
• scrape the site, or hammer it with automated requests;
• upload anything unlawful, abusive or harassing, including in a reflection or a message to us;
• impersonate anybody, or use somebody else’s payment details;
• reverse-engineer, decompile or attack any part of the service.

8. Availability

We will keep the site up as best we can, but we do not promise it will never be down. We may take it offline for maintenance, and we may change or withdraw material — if we withdraw something you have bought outright, we will give you a reasonable chance to download it first.

9. Ending it

You can close your account at any time at /account/delete. Closing it ends your access. Where you paid outright for something and we still hold it, tell us before you close the account and we will help you keep a copy.

We can suspend or close an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken — sharing sign-ins, redistributing files, attacking the site. Where the breach is fixable we will say what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it first. Closure for breach does not by itself entitle you to a refund, except where the law says otherwise, and your legal rights as a consumer are not affected by any of this.

10. This is not therapy

Everything here is educational. It is written to help two people understand what keeps happening between them and to try something different. It is not therapy, counselling, psychological treatment or medical advice, no relationship is created between you and a clinician, and nothing here is tailored to your situation.

If something in your relationship needs a professional — violence, coercion, addiction, an untreated mental health condition — please go and get one. That is not a failure. It is the correct next step, and no book is a substitute for it.

11. If you need help today

• Relate — relate.org.uk, for relationship counselling in the UK. Your GP can also refer you.
• In an emergency, or if you or somebody else is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK or 112 anywhere in the EU. Outside those, use your local emergency number.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Beyond that, and because this is educational material rather than advice about your particular situation, we are not liable for decisions you take after reading it, and our total liability for any claim connected with something you bought is limited to what you paid for it.

13. Law and where a dispute goes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, none of that takes away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. A change never applies backwards to something you have already bought, and if a change is significant we will tell subscribers by email.

15. Complaints

Email hello@affectionlibrary.com with what happened and your order number if you have one. We aim to reply within two working days, and we would much rather hear about a problem than have you go somewhere else with it.
